Christine + John | Fall wedding at Allerton Park by the pond

Last fall I had the privilege of photographing Christine + John’s wedding vows by Lake Decatur at Christine’s parents’ lake house. Only a few family and friends were present for that ceremony, so it was a happy occasion when they were able to celebrate with all their friends and family this fall. This second ceremony took place outside the Allerton Mansion by the koi pond, followed by the tent reception on the bowling lawn. I also photographed a quick engagement session for them last year once we knew the original wedding plans would have to be changed due to COVID.

These two were blessed with a beautiful fall day with perfect temps. There are so many great photo spots right around the mansion, so we didn’t venture too far for any of the portraits. Christine + John had game areas for their guests (both indoor board and outdoor lawn games), and when I saw the Bananagrams, I knew I had to incorporate the letter tiles into their ring photos!

This photo is heavily photoshopped, BUT it is a true composite of just two individual photos, taken in the same place. I love how the stars turned out and how the overall completed photo looks!
