Jennifer + Jake | Winter Wedding at Pear Tree Estate

Jennifer + Jake’s wedding was my last for 2021, and I can’t think of a better way to have ended the craziest wedding season ever! Their elegant black and white wedding with red, white, and green florals was a Christmas wedding dream! We had terrible weather (we literally took ZERO photos outside), which makes me ever-so-thankful for beautiful venues like Pear Tree Estate, AND for my extensive knowledge of off-camera flash. It really was the perfect storm, and things couldn’t have gone more smoothly.

I started the day in southwest Champaign at Jake’s parents’ house where the guys were enjoying a wedding staple, Jimmy John’s sandwiches, and getting ready for the day. Then it was off to Pear Tree where the ladies were getting ready in the cozy and functional Concorde Room, a house on the property that is perfect for large wedding parties to get ready.

Then it was off to the main building to get some detail shots while I awaited the First Look. We did the First Look in the foyer, followed by portraits and wedding party photos in front of the fireplaces and decorated trees. Who doesn’t love some Christmas light bokeh (blur)?!

Then just after dark the candlelit ceremony began in front of the fireplace, followed by cocktail hour and the reception. Dinner at Pear Tree was amazing as always, including delicious desserts.

Jennifer and Jake, you both looked flawless in your wedding attire, and I so enjoyed spending your day with you. You are surrounded by some great friends and family, and I wish you many happy years of wedded bliss! <3
