Martinelli's | Champaign deli + bakery photos

This shoot with Martinelli’s was part 3 of 3 of a food series with their sister companies. The first two sessions were at Pekara & CI Bakehouse and it was fun to get to see all 3 locations and how they operate independently yet together as a team as well.

We had our work cut out for us (me, along with a couple of Martinelli’s staff who helped me stage, keep track of dishes, and stepped in as hand models), worked our way through nearly the ENTIRE Martinelli’s menu.

And aside from the individual plates, we also did about 4 “hero” shots with several dishes staged to look like a full table of food, photographed top-down (overhead). These “hero” shots are great for everyday social media posts, but I also love them for website/page headers because they look great visually spread across the width of a browser.

And of course we got to sample a bit! I tried a Reuben for the first time ever. It was really good! Thpugh I decided that I’m not really a fan of saurkraut. LOL

If you are looking for an upscale sandwich/deli lunch spot, I highly recommend stopping into Martinelli’s! They always have an assortment of baked goods, desserts, and side dishes. Plus there are many pantry items available which are great for gifts.
