J. Blu Design | Florist personal brand session

This winter I traveled to the Peoria area for Julie from J.Blu Designs brand session. Julie is a fellow wedding vendor in the florist industry and she creates gorgeous and dreamy wedding floral pieces. She also happens to have an adorable floral studio/office/meeting space in a shed by her home that is a photographer’s dream!

Julie recently re-branded her entire business, and in that process knew she would need new photos of her — hard at work, tools of the trade, the space where she creates, pieces available for clients to rent, and her consultation space. Her brand incorporates a lot of navy, and also this pretty deep orange-y red color, both of which I LOVE! The combo of the navy cabinets and crisp, shiny white tiles in her studio are beautiful, especially when tied in with the textures and softness of plants and flowers.

In planning her session, we talked a lot about updated headshots (no brainer!), and Julie in her element working, especially in ways that show her day-to-day operations. She chose several clothing pieces that represent her and her brand well. It’s always interesting for me to get into someone’s space too to see what’s important to them. I noticed right away a few cute signs Julie has hanging in the studio, and was also immediately drawn to her bulletin board of thank you notes she’s received from brides over the years. I made sure to incorporate all of those things to help tell the story of J.Blu Design.

Julie’s new website launched recently, so I am so happy to be able to share these photos with you now! Congrats on the re-brand and website launch!!
